About Green Thumb
Established in 1984 by Michael J. Legasse, Green Thumb Lawn Service is a family-owned and operated business that has evolved to become the largest lawn care company in central Maine. Michael’s journey began when he worked at a family owned hardware store in north Brewer and identified a growing demand for reliable and sustainable lawn care solutions. Starting with a small-scale mowing business, Michael gradually expanded his services to include turf health and pest management finishing the first year with 17 customers in turf care. As these areas of the business flourished, he sold the mowing division to a local landscaper, allowing him to concentrate on delivering exceptional lawn care services.
Today, Green Thumb Lawn Service is led by Jeremy J. Legasse, who carries on the family legacy founded by his father, Michael. Jeremy is dedicated to maintaining a solid family-oriented culture within the company, providing a supportive and nurturing work environment for all employees. Under his leadership, Green Thumb Lawn Service delivers over 10,000 services annually to an area spanning an 80-mile radius outside Brewer.
